About
I'm Gijs (which is pronounced somewhat like the English word "guys"). I am almost a quarter of a century old, and currently studying Astronomy and Data Sciences at the Leiden Observatory. In my free time I enjoy boxing, toying around with technology and cooking.
I am interested in a wide variety of topics in (astro)physics and computer science, including but not limited to:
- (Geometric) Deep Learning
- Simulating (Astro)physics (ranging from particles to galaxies)
- High Performance Computing
- Physics Inspired Neural Networks
- Quantum Algorithms and Computation
- Data analysis
My favorite programming language is Python, which I use on a daily basis. This is my bread-and-butter and I assist in teaching Python (and formely also Machine Learning) to bachelor students.
